This Privacy Policy explains what information Ocean Crossings: The Dead Sea (the “Game”) collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep the data we gather to the minimum needed to run the Game.
When you create an account we collect your email address, your chosen username, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text. As you play, we store your game progress, scores, badges, and the names of fallen officers so the leaderboard, memorial, and your saved campaign work across devices.
When you purchase the Game, payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your payment details directly. We receive only a confirmation that your purchase succeeded and a reference identifier. We do not receive or store your full card number.
We use your information to create and secure your account, to unlock and deliver the Game, to save and restore your progress, to display public leaderboard and memorial entries (which show your username and captain names, never your email), and to contact you about your account, such as a password reset that you request.
Your username and the captain and crew names you choose may appear publicly on the leaderboard and memorial pages. Your email address and password are never shown publicly.
We rely on a small set of trusted providers to operate the Game: a database host for accounts and scores, Stripe for payments, and an email provider to deliver account messages such as password resets. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound to protect it.
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in (an encrypted session cookie). We do not use advertising or third party tracking cookies. The Game also stores some settings, such as audio volume and a local copy of your save, in your browser.
We keep your account and progress for as long as your account exists. Password reset links are short lived and expire automatically. You may ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us using the support email on our website and we will respond within a reasonable time.
The Game is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above.
